Easter

Going through the few pictures I took, I'm realizing I have no pictures of Sydney in her Easter dress. I'll make her wear it this week again and take a picture then. She and I went on a girls' night out to shop for it. She's a size 7 now, which means she is no longer grouped with little girls...her size is in the 7-14 "tween" category. Yikes! I helped sway her a little from the more "mature" dresses, but for the most part, she picked it out on her own and I love it. It's black and white and so darling...pics to come soon, hopefully.

This year we went to my sister-in-law Tammy's since her son Daniel was giving his talk before he leaves on his mission. It was fun to have a mini-Bryson-reunion and the kids loved seeing all the cousins. We had an egg hunt, and Jake had such a great time. I had found these great sand buckets at Michael's for a dollar and used my Silhouette to put their names on them...still love that thing!

Sydney going at it.

A Bryson tradition is the silver/gold eggs. They each have a dollar or two hidden in them and are hidden especially well. This year, Sydney found one and it had a gold dollar coin inside. She was so excited!

You can also see that we cut her hair. About a week ago I was cutting the boys' hair when she started begging me to cut hers "short." I told her to think about it for a while and if she still wanted to, then I would. Once that girl makes up her mind, there is no changing it. So now we pretty much look like twins. I think we'll both get A-lines pretty soon...it will be fun for summer.

New 'do--times two

So I've really been needing a new look, and Sydney has been begging me to let her cut her hair like her friend, Jessie's. As in, right at her shoulders... I kept hoping she would change her mind, but no luck, so I asked her like 100 times if she was sure, and she said yes, so we had a little girls' hair-date today and got new 'dos. Before the haircuts, we went to the dollar store (her favorite place) so she could spend some of her money, and I found some cute luau stuff for her birthday party next month.
Anyway, I'm proud that I was willing/able to let go of control of her hair and let her do what she wanted to with it. If there's one thing I've always said, it's that ,"It's just hair...it will grow back." Heaven knows I've had like every hairdo in the book. I think it'll be fun for the summer. And I guess it will take less time to do her hair now, which is a big plus. :)
My new look. I've been trying to grow out my bangs for a couple months, and now they actually look like they are part of my style. :) My brown-eyed girl.
I. LOVE. HER.

Fake Hair

So I can finally pull my hair up into a pony tail again, but it's so tiny and pathetic, I needed something to help it out. The solution: FAKE HAIR!!!
I love it~~especially on a day like today where I was doing housework all day and really didn't have time to do my hair (it's still wet from my shower this morning.). :)
I still need to fiddle with it and pin it up in certain spots when I'm going to wear it "out," but I'm so happy with the results and how well the color matches my own fake color...and that I now have a lazy hair-do for those lazy days! This is the side view...thanks to Brandon for being my photographer :)
Jake wanted some pictures of himself, too.
Here's his super-cheesy grin!

New hair

So we all know that I get bored with my hair a lot...so Friday afternoon I decided to make a change and got a new 'do. I went for an a-line cut and so far I think I like it. At least it's way less to dry and way less to straighten. That's ALWAYS a good thing! I can't quite do a ponytail anymore which is sad, but it's fun to have a change!
By the way, I just love my Brandon...he has been so helpful lately and asked me several times today if I needed any more help with all the housework. He did a ton for me and it went so much faster! I can't believe he's going to be 12 soon. He sure is getting old! But I'm not! :)
