Ryan's New Bike

The third grade students at the kids' school have the chance to earn a free bike each year from Tom Scott Toyota if they have perfect attendance and score proficient on their IRI (state reading test). Thank heaven, we haven't had any sick kids this year, and on the last day of school, Ryan got the certificate for his new bike! He has been so anxious! We went right after school that day and picked it up, then took it to the mountains when we went camping this weekend. He's only had it a few days, and it has a lot of miles on it already! Yea for Ryan!!

Sydney's Dance Recital

Sydney has been taking dance/tumbling lessons since January, and her little class had their recital last night. It was awesome! To get ready, we did her hair really cool in a "braid flower" as we call it, then she got to wear make-up for the stage. She was SOOO excited to wear make-up! The funny thing was that she's already so tan that my blush barely showed up on her brown skin! She kept saying, "I can't see it!" Wearing make-up was probably her favorite thing. She asked if she could wear it for a few more days and I said it was just this once since she was in a recital on stage for dance. She quickly then asked if she could take dance again (so she can wear make-up again!). So cute!!

She definitely does not have any semblance of stage fright. Once the curtain opened, she was BEAMING from ear to ear and waved to the crowd. It was great! She did so good at remembering her dance and was just so fun to watch! I can't believe how crazy beautiful she is!!

Croup?? Crap!!

So Jake has croup, apparently. He came down with a fever Saturday night when we got home from camping, then by Sunday morning, he had a HACKING cough. He sounded terrible! He wasn't any better today, so I took him to the doctor, and it's croup. Hopefully it won't take too long for him to start feeling better. I can't think of where he would have gotten it from...whoever it was, gee, thanks!

My brown-eyed girl

Wow, 3 posts in one day--I'm like super-woman or something!!!

Anywho, one day last week I had an early start to my morning and decided I had time to make Sydney's hair really cute for preschool, so against her wishes :), I put her hair in hot rollers for like an hour and this is how it turned out. It was crazy beautiful!!! It's so fun to have a girl and get to play with her hair and do all the girly things with! I still sometimes can't belive I am this gorgeous little girl's mom...she's so fun to have in our family and I can't imagine it without her! How can you not smile at that face?!?!

G-ma's Hammock

Last summer my mom and dad went to Brazil for vacation--lucky! They bought a hammock for our family as a gift, but we didn't have anywhere to put it so it's just been in a bag in the garage for months and months... Well, last week I finally got a stand for our beautiful hammock and we put it out on the patio. It's so neat to finally have it out. The kids have decided it's the new fun thing and literally fight over whose turn it is to swing in the hammock...especially Sydney...she thinks it's hers.

He's crawling!!!

So as much as I didn't want it to happen, Jake has started crawling this week. :( He learned how to rock first, and did that for a week or two, but he figured out the actual crawling in the last week or so...he's only 7 months old and I so wish he would've waited a little longer. It's pretty stinking cute, though, so it's not all bad.
So he thinks he's real big now and you can tell he's pretty proud of himself!
Go, Bubba, Go!!!
He's real good at sitting, too... :)
Today, I spiked up his hair in the front a little and I just love it!
How glad am I that we had him?!?!

She's growing too fast...

So apparently, no matter how much I beg her, Sydney just isn't going to stop growing...too bad...

Yesterday I took her to kindergarten registration and I have to admit, it made me a little sad. It doesn't feel like that long since I did that with Brandon, and now he's going to middle school this fall. It did make me think how glad I am that she's not my last one, though. I'm so grateful we have Jake now and pretty excited that he'll stay little a little longer than she has!
